Intelligent Robot Fire Extinguisher

Indonesia - Creativity and innovation of the three students of Electrical Engineering, ITB, namely Ardya Dipta Nandaviri, Syawaludin Rachmatullah, and Ichwan Adhi Kurniawan, seemingly sweet fruit. Intelligent robotic fire extinguisher that is named "The Power of Dreams" successful achievement of ITB up to the international robot contest at Trinity College, the United States on 11 April 2010 then.

Robot who spent workmanship for six months, a six-foot-type robot (hexapod) is shaped like a spider, which is driven by a servo-servo. Equipped with ultrasonic sensors and compass navigation, the robot can detect the location of the TPD fire, then moved randomly and have direction and most efficient path to the location of the fire.

On arrival at the destination location, the robot TPD will extinguish the fire with a fan that sank on the robots. "Uniquely, we use the fan which is obtained for free from the bonus purchase batteries," joked Dipta, one of the team contest participants. After its mission, the robot will move back to the site of origin (home) and perform dance attractions.

Intelligent robotic creations of this inspiring three students brought a variety of important historical achievement. Because, TPD successfully won the Intelligent Indonesian Robot Contest (KRCI) in 2009 and was awarded "Best Algorythm Award". National achievement is then delivered to diperlombakan TPD robot at the international level.

After the proposed Directorate General of Higher Education (Directorate General of Higher Education), the robot is then diperlombakan back in the international robot contest in America, "The Trinity College Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest." In the contest, the robot placed the room maze and tested his prowess in speed and accuracy to extinguish the fire.

"From KRCI to the international contest, we managed to improve synchronous servo motion," added Dipta. With various improvements, especially in the mechanical part, intelligent robots TPD ranks fourth in the international contest. The contest was also accompanied by two other teams from Indonesia, the Indonesian Computer University (Chemistry), Bandung and Surabaya State University (Unesa) for the category of wheeled robots.

Achievements are carved Dipta, Syawal, and Ichwan, shows how important the creativity and spirit at work is absolutely necessary. With the current achievements have been accomplished, the team of "The Power of Dreams" continues trying to improve the current robots that they have created. "In the future robots will be continuously developed to diperlombakan again later," said Dipta.
